Okay Scott I plugged your time into Mcmillan calculator and based on your 5k time it projects that your 1 mile time is 6:15 pace, 1.5 miles at 6:32 pace, and 2 miles at 6:40 pace. I would probably start by doing the 1 min "on" intervals at about your 2 mile pace. So do 1 min at 8.9-9.0 (6:44-6:40 pace) and 1 min recovery at 6.8-7.0 (or slower if you need to). Make sure you do a nice slow warm-up and cool-down. Does this make sense? Definitely check out the calculator and look at your projected times. I base all of my training off of the mcmillan calculator and I love it. Based on your 5k PR it projects your marathon at 3:32. :) I think that would be a BQ for you right?

If you are running outside I would just run at 5k or faster effort for 1 min followed by 1 min of recovery. I do this workout both outdoors and on the treadmill.

1st Run 5:30am ish: Enjoyed a quick run with Vanessa, Marisa, Jill & Donna! So fun! Wish I could've stayed longer with the group. Reminded me of when I first started running, Vanessa and Marisa helped me so much back then. (6:60 Miles)

2nd Run 7:00am: Ran with a new group of fast girls. Rachelle, Jen, Jeni, Melissa... can't remember the other girls names. I couldn't keep up with them but loved the conversation and moral support they offered! Great to get to knew them especially Rachelle and Jen. I'm so impressed with their trials and triumphs over their challenges! Truly an inspiration! (6:90 miles)
